Abstract Benjamin F. White was a second lieutenant, Company F, 6th North Carolina Regiment, who served in Virginia, July-October 1861. The collection includes the diary of Benjamin F. White containing a detailed narrative of events, with comments and reflections, including discussion of the Battle of Manassas (Bull Run), 21 July 1861. Topics discussed include diseases that killed many in the regiment, preaching and baptizing, gambling, and other aspects of camp life.
