Abstract Alonzo J. Willis (fl. 1865-1875) resided in High Point, N.C. The collection includes letters, petitions, and other items, 1865-1875, of Alonzo J. Willis relating to his efforts to recover the cost of a horse and a mule confiscated by the Union Army after the Confederate surrender, including two letters from Congressman John Broomall of Pennsylvania. There are also miscellaneous bills and receipts, 1848-1858 and 1877; a hand-drawn plat map of High Point, 1859; and material, 1949, relating to the redrafting of an insurance policy.
