78 rpm recording. Fiddlin’ John Carson: “You Will Never Miss Your Mother Until She Is Gone / Papa’s Billy Goat” (Okeh 4994).
Carson’s second recording for Ralph Peer and Okeh, released in November 1923. Okeh placed Carson’s first recordings in their “popular series,” along with dance bands, Broadway tunes, and Hawaiian music, among other genres.
