     This records group contains the files of the head of the
Collection Development Department (formerly Bibliographic
Services) of the University's Academic Affairs Library. 
Additional information on the Department will be found in the
Records of the Office of the University Librarian in the
University Archives.

     Also included, in Series 2 under Triangle Universities
Libraries Cooperative Committee, are files related to cooperative
collection development programs dating from the 1930s, when the
University of North Carolina and Duke University first began to
cooperate in collection development.
