     This records group contains the files of C. Horace Hamilton
(1901-1977), Assistant Director of the Carolina Population Center
from 1967 to 1973.  Included are Hamilton's administrative files
on the Population Center and his correspondence with and about
the Center's North Carolina Population Study Group and the
Governor's Committee on Population and the Family.  The group
also contains Hamilton's correspondence, 1961-1972, about his
publications and copies of some papers written by him.  Published
items by Hamilton are also available in the North Carolina
Collection and the Population Center Library.
