     The Elections Board was organized under the student
government Constitution of 1940, as approved on April 20, 1940.
The Board was empowered to supervise the administration of campus
elections and was required to certify the accuracy of election
results.  Among the Board's responsibilities are the recognition
of student political parties, the certification of candidate
eligibility, the printing and distribution of ballots, the
selection of polling places and personnel, ballot counting, and
the certification of election results.
