Series 2. Title IX, 1972-1980.
In addition to her other duties, Susan H. Ehringhaus served as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Title IX compliance officer. She chaired a special committee appointed by Chancellor N. Ferebee Taylor in 1974 to consider whether the university should comment on the federal government's proposed regulations for the implementation of Title IX of the United States Education Amendments of 1972 and, if so, to draft comments. Materials in this series relate largely to the work of that committee, which continued through 1980. The committee steered the university through a federally-required self-evaluation process and made recommendations for bringing the campus into full compliance with Title IX.
