Abstract While retaining his position as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Bentley Renwick served as Special Assistant to the Chancellor from mid-1977 to mid-1978. In this capacity, he visited eleven other universities and developed a proposal for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's recruitment and retention of minority students. Records include reports of Bentley Renwick's visits to other universities, his final recommendations, and the papers of an ad hoc committee formed to consider the recommendations.
