Historical Information
The Carolina Center for Jewish Studies was founded in 2003 to support the interdisciplinary study of Jewish histroy, culture, and religion. The center offers undergraduate minors in Jewish studies and modern Hebrew and supports graduate students from various disciplines who are interested in Jewish studies. The center is particularly strong in the study of Jewish life in the American South. In additon to the academic program, the center hosts public lectures, film screenings, and seminars, and has an active outreach program.
