Abstract The Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE) was established in 1981 in the School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was designed to provide training, education, and consultation to hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other medical facilities to prevent and control healthcare-associated infections. Records consist of reports, course materials, conference notes, brochures, posters, pamphlets, newsletters, and other items related to the programs and activities of the Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology.
