FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION RECORD GROUPS
The Division of Finance and Administration is the successor to the Division of Business and Finance, which was established in 1970 to handle the University's budget, business operations, facilities planning and maintenance, security, and related functions.
The title of the Division head was, initially, Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance. In April 1996, in conjunction with a University-wide administrative reorganization, the title changed to Vice Chancellor for Administration, and, in August 1998, it changed to Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.
Note that the records of the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance contain records of earlier financial administrators, including a series of historical account books dating to 1789.
