RESEARCH AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RECORD GROUPS
The Division of Research and Economic Development, created in 2003, is the successor to the Division of Graduate Studies and Research. Headed by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, it supports the University's research mission and leads the University's efforts in economic development.
Responsibility for the University's graduate programs and for research administration has, at times, resided in a single office and, at other times, in separate offices. Prior to 2003, the Dean of the Graduate School reported to the Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies and Research; in 2003, the Dean began reporting to the Provost. See also Graduate School.
Some research centers and institutes currently report to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development; others report to the Provost. See also Academic Affairs.
