UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT RECORD GROUPS
The Division of University Advancement, headed by the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement, includes the offices responsible for the University's private fundraising and for the management of its relations with its various external constituencies. The latter include corporations, foundations, government entities, and the media.
The University's unified development program began in 1952 with the establishment of the Office of University Development. In 1973, the Division of Development and Public Service was created; its name changed to Division of Development and University Relations in 1985. In 1995, the position of Vice Chancellor for Development and University Relations was eliminated, but it was reestablished in 1996 as Vice Chancellor for University Advancement.
