ONLINE FINDING AIDS
The finding aids for the record groups that comprise the University Archives are arranged in divisions that correspond roughly to the administrative organization of the University. These divisions are listed below. Note that student and University-affiliated organizations are treated as divisions though they are not administrative.
A finding aid is an inventory of a group of archival records. Record group refers to the records of a particular office, department, or organization. The finding aid provides contextual information about the group and its creators, and it also outlines the group's arrangement.

The majority of the University Archives' record groups are represented in the online finding aids, but these inventories vary in depth and detail.
In addition to searching this site, please search the UNC Chapel Hill Libraries online catalog where all of the Archives' processed record groups are represented.
Finding aids are available either through an alphabetical listing of record groups or via web pages arranged by division (below).
