About the UNC-Chapel Hill Music Library
The UNC-Chapel Hill Music Library is among the top 10 academic music libraries in the country. Housed
in Wilson Library since June 2003, it contains more than 165,000 books and scores, 12,000
microforms, 55,000 audio and video recordings, and over 10,000 rare items, including 4,600 Italian opera libretti from 1600 through the 19th century.
The Music Library serves the classroom and research needs of the Department
of Music as well as a variety of other academic areas on campus.
In addition, the library serves the needs of national and international users.
