WM-166-3 1365-7. LINC (Log In to North Carolina) Log In to North Carolina (LINC) gathers statewide statistical data. This is an excellent source for recent statistical information from agencies such as the Census Bureau, and the state departments of labor and education. America: History and Life is the primary index to academic journals in American History. This database indexes several North Carolina titles, including North Carolina Archaeology, North Carolina Folklore Journal, and The North Carolina Historical Review. Documenting the American South Documenting the American South includes the full text of historic books, pamphlets, and other primary sources related to Southern history and literature. Researchers studying North Carolina will find the collection The North Carolina Experience, Beginnings to 1940 especially helpful. North Carolina Information Resources North Carolina Information Resources is a helpful compilation of North Carolina government resources. Sanborn Maps are detailed maps of cities and towns in the 19th and 20th centuries. This online collection spans the years 1867-1970 and includes maps of 158 North Carolina communities. Lexis-Nexis contains full-text articles from several North Carolina newspapers including the Raleigh News & Observer, the Durham Herald-Sun, the Greensboro News & Record, and the Wilmington Star-News. Factiva contains full-text articles from North Carolina publications including the Greensboro News & Record, the Durham Herald-Sun, the Asheville Citizen-Times, and Business Journal. (Note: this resource is available only to UNC students and staff and researchers in the UNC Library.) The Early American Imprints online resource contains the full text of every available non-serial title printed in the American colonies, and, later, the United States from 1639-1800. Series II, based on the Shaw/Shoemaker bibliography, contains imprints from 1801-1819. These two resources currently include more than 400 North Carolina imprints. Eighteenth Century Collections Online Based on the English Short Title Catalogue, Eighteenth Century Collections Online is one of the largest digitization projects to date. This resource includes nearly all non-serial titles published in English during the eighteenth century, many of which relate to North Carolina and the American colonies. Early English Books Online contains all non-serial titles published in England and its colonies between 1475 and 1700.
