vote with this emery board. A pharmacist from Princeton, NC, Woodard
served three terms as a representative in the state legislature
from 1971 to 1977.

O'Herron's family founded the Eckerd Drug chain.
Despite the "folksy" nature of this piece, WWII veteran
O'Herron was one of the wealthiest North Carolinians to make a
bid for the office of governor. He lost his party's nomination
to Jim Hunt.

1964. Daniel Killian Moore was the Democratic governor of North
Carolina from 1965 to 1969. Born in Asheville, Moore was a veteran
of World War II and served as a superior court judge in North Carolina
in the 1950s. |
