Accepting GiftsThe North Carolina Collection has been built through the generosity of many people. Donations of materials have added depth to our holdings and enabled us to be the largest collection of our type. Because of our many donors and the good work of previous staff, we have almost all of the classic books on the Tar Heel State. We are unlikely to need older books that people have had at home unless those books are about a specific person, locality, or organization such as a local church or community group. We are, however, interested in gifts of newly-published books, pamphlets, and magazines. If you are interested in donating items to the North Carolina Collection, please contact Eileen McGrath, the Assistant Curator, at (919) 962-1172; she will be able to tell you if your materials are needed for the North Carolina Collection.
