North Carolina literature in the North Carolina CollectionThe North Carolina Collection collects novels, poetry, essays, and other literary works by Tar Heel authors, as well as works of fiction set in the state. The collection also maintains an extensive file of newspaper clippings and book reviews about North Carolina literary works.
Online Catalog The UNC Library's online catalog is the best place to start your search for North Carolina literature. Most (about 90%) of the holdings of the North Carolina Collection are cataloged online. To search for materials by a specific author, select an "author" search. Many of the literary works in the NCC are also cataloged by subject. For example, to search for novels set in North Carolina, select a "subject" search and enter the phrase North Carolina -- Fiction. Read North Carolina Novels Read North Carolina Novels is a guide to recent fiction set in North Carolina. Visitors can browse by author or look for books based on the region or county in which they take place. Literary Scrapbooks For more than a half century North Carolina Collection staff members have compiled and indexed articles about books and authors from North Carolina newspapers. Indexes to most of these articles are available on the literary scrapbooks page on this website. |
