Chatham County

Chatham County's first courthouse

This building served as Chatham County's first courthouse. It was raided by David Fanning and other Tories in July 1781. This photograph was made at Pittsboro in the 1920s not long before the structure burned. Photograph by Ben Dixon MacNeill.
