Scope and Content
A collection documenting more than 3,500 persons, most of whom have a connection to the state of North Carolina. The collection is physically divided into three series based upon the dimensions of the prints and photographs and the storage enviroment required for these materials. The collecton is arranged by surname and forename. The majority of the materials in this collection are stored in record center boxes (1-20), entries with "Series FP2" are oversized items in oversized boxes (21-33), and entries with "Series FFP2" are extra oversized items stored in map case drawers.

The collection contains about 9,000 images. The first twenty boxes (1-20) contain portraits up to 8 inches x 11 inches in size, the next thirteen boxes (21-33) contain oversized portraits up to 16.5 inches by 20.5 inches (entries FP2), and two map drawers (boxes 34-35) containing portaits up to 20 inches by 40 inches (entries FFP2).
