Biographical Sketch: Frank Arthur Daniels Jr. (1931- ) of Raleigh, North Carolina, was president and publisher of the Raleigh News and Observer. He was a business and civic leader, served on the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority and also on the Board of the Associated Press. His father before him, Frank A. Daniels Sr., as well as his grandfather, Josephus Daniels, were publishers of The News and Observer. Josephus Daniels was Secretary of the Navy from 1913 until 1921, and United States Ambassador to Mexico, 1933-1941.
