Fictional Towns Many of the names below might sound familiar: authors often use historic names for their fictional towns, or in many cases, they use the name of a real community but simply place it in a different part of the state. Check twice if you think you've spotted one of these places on a map. While the name might appear in one place, the town or village described by the novelist exists only in the pages of fiction. From Abbotsville in the west to Killakeet Island on the coast, authors have placed their imaginary communities across the state. |
