Maps for North Carolina
The North Carolina Collection
has extensive holdings of maps produced by the Sanborn Map Company of
Pelham, New York, providing detailed information on the layout and construction
of public and private buildings in cities and towns across the state.
Black and white images of Sanborn
maps are also available on microfilm in the North Carolina Collection,
and online. Access to original maps is restricted to researchers who have
already examined the microfilm or the online materials, located the map(s)
that they need, and determined that they need to see the originals.
