Index to Subject Clippings

This database is a topical listing of North Carolina-related articles clipped from through the year 1989, primarily from newspapers and magazines. The topics are arranged alphabetically and include subjects, events, geographic localities, and corporate entities. Copies of the articles are on file in the North Carolina Collection, University of North Carolina Library at Chapel Hill.

The call number for bound volumes and also microfilm in the North Carolina Collection containing the clippings appears immediately after each entry. The numbers following the call number refer to volume and page numbers within the bound volumes where the clippings are found. Xerographic copies of clippings can be purchased; font sizes for these paper copies are small, however, because of significant image reduction. Contact the North Carolina Collection for information on purchasing copies of particular subject files.

Searching Tips - There are two columns of entries on each page. The column on the left is for clippings up to 1975, the column on the right is for clippings from 1976-1989. All entries may be scrolled when files are open. Word searches are possible using the "Find" button available on most Web browsers.
