At a Board of Trustees meeting in Raleigh, James Iredell presented the following proposal concerning the instruction of law at the University: "Be it ordained...that the Executive Committee be & they are hereby authorized at their discretion to establish a Law Professorship and to proscribe such rules and regulations as to the duties and emoluments of such professorship, and also as to the class of Students who may attend instruction therein as (sic) may think proper."Top |
