This Day in the History of the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Archibald Henderson was born at Lombardy, his grandfather's home in Salisbury, North Carolina. He graduated from the University in 1898 and later served as a professor of mathematics there. In 1920, he was named as head of the University's Math Department. He also wrote several historical works and biographies of George Bernard Shaw.
