Gordon Gray was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Graduating from the University in 1930, Gray would eventually serve as president of the Consolidated University of North Carolina from 1950 to 1955. Before becoming president, he was President Harry S. Truman's secretary of the army, the first to also have served as a private in the army.Top |
