This Day in the History of the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Following the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, World War I ended at 11:00 a.m. During the conflict, the mobilization effort transformed the campus and the University into a military training ground, but with peace declared, the Student Army Corps began to demobilize during the first few weeks of December.
