Eugene Cunningham Branson died in Durham. While at the University, he organized the Department of Applied Rural Economics and Sociology and then established the North Carolina Club and the "News Letter" in an attempt to further his work. When the University of Virginia attempted to lure Branson away, he was awarded a Kenan professorship and chose to remain in Chapel Hill.Top |
