Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed University graduate Robert D. W. Connor as the first Archivist of the United States. Connor organized and oversaw the National Archives from 1934 to 1941. Upon his resignation, Connor returned to the University as the Craige Professor of Jurisprudence and History.Top |
