Robert Digges Wimberly Connor died in Durham. An 1899 graduate of the University, Connor was a member of the Board of Trustees, secretary of the North Carolina Historical Commission, first Archivist of the United States (appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1934), and Kenan Professor of History.Top |
