The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) was founded in Greensboro, North Carolina. The seven charter members (University of North Carolina, Clemson University, Duke University, University of Maryland, North Carolina State University, University of South Carolina, and Wake Forest College, now University) had withdrawn from the Southern Conference earlier in the day.Top |
