The tutorial consists of six sections:
- Introduction provides an overview of the tutorial itself and
introduces the UNC-Chapel Hill Planning Library collection.
- Search Strategies discusses the most common and effective search
methods. These valuable techniques can be applied in any database
or Internet search engine.
- Books presents the main resources for finding relevant books,
theses, and dissertations at the UNC-Chapel Hill Libraries, in
other libraries, and on the Internet.
- Articles examines the most important resources for identifying
and locating scholarly articles in the field of Planning.
- Library Services introduces GIS resources at UNC, describes the process for recalling books
that are checked out, provides guidance on using Interlibrary Loan,
and presents options for obtaining reference assistance.
Each section contains a number of sub-sections. While the sections are arranged in a logical progression, each section can stand on its own, so it is not necessary to follow them in sequence.
