If you need to look at census data, land use patterns, or other geographical sources, you may want to look into using Geographic Information Systems, or GIS. Davis Library has great resources for students who need to use GIS in their research. Their hardware and software are available whenever the Davis Reference Department is open.

The GIS Datafinder allows patrons to browse sets of spatial data for different themes, locations, and layers, and can be a useful resource for Planning students.
