Borrowing Materials from the Reference Department

Materials in the general reference collection are for use only in the Reference Department and in Davis Library. They do not circulate outside the Library.

Users can check out materials from the Documents Section of the Reference Department, including federal government documents, international agency documents, and documents from the 50 American states, with a valid ID or ILL request. Serial publications and certain other materials, however, do not circulate.

Library users can also check out selected CD-ROMs, with a valid ID or interlibrary loan (ILL) request. Check out of Electronic Reference CD-ROMs is by approval of the Electronic Services Librarian.
Check out of government CD-ROMs requires approval of the Documents Librarian.

Microfilm and microfiche held in the Microforms Collection can also generally be checked out, with a valid ID or ILL request.
