General Tools

American Community Survey Tools

  • List of American Community Survey tables available at the Block Group level (only highlighted tables are available for BGs, and BG data are only available in the "Summary File," or flat file, download --see next item)
  • Summary File (flat file) page - links to the FTP download page in a box on the right side of the page. Summary Files include ALL tables and ALL geographies unless otherwise noted and must be manipulated in statistical software like Stata or SAS. However, the page also includes a link to download the Summary File Retrieval Tool (an Excel Macro) "for downloading 20 tables or less for all published geographies within a state."
  • Compass data user guides (includes guides for PUMS and rural area data users--see Handbook QuickLinks on right side of the page)
