Not exclusively focussed on the renewable energy industry (petroleum and nuclear are also described). This print resource is comprised of a directory of industry contacts, company profiles within the renewables & alternative fuel industry, and a section of important statistics (mostly drawn from the EIA). Profiles include companies involved in energy research & technology, generation, and transportation
Use the S.E.C.'s database to find current filings regarding a company's financial health and operations. Annual reports (form 10-K) are a good starting point
Found at the Davis Library Reference Desk this print resource is updated twice annually and covers the range of U.S. industries. Included in the set are surveys for "Oil & Gas: Equipment and Services," "Oil & Gas: Production and Marketing," "Electric Utilities," and "Natural Gas." Data included in these reports typically includes key statistics for the industry and comparative analysis charts for companies within the industry. These charts include operating revenues, net income, returns, debt ratios, P/E, dividends and more. Data tends to be recent (within the last 10 years) but older surveys are available in Davis Library.
Clicking on the "Search For Companies" link in the upper left hand corner provides quick access to company information by geographic area, analyst recommendation, index, sector, and investment style. Other options for searching include sorting companies by financial or stock/earnings criteria as well as searching for individual companies. Historic stock price information is available as well
