"Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study (B&B) provides information concerning education and work experiences after completion of bachelor’s degrees. BPS follows students who are enrolled in a postsecondary institution for the first time. Initially, these individuals are surveyed through the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) to find out how they and their families pay for education beyond high school. These same students are surveyed 2- and 5-years later through BPS to find out about their undergraduate experiences, persistence in school, degree completion, and employment following enrollment." "Beginning with an 8th grade cohort in 1988, NELS:88 provides trend data about critical transitions experienced by young people as they develop, attend school, and embark on their careers. Data were collected from students and their parents, teachers, and high school principals and from existing school records such as high school transcripts. Cognitive tests (math, science, reading, and history) were administered during the base year (1988), first follow-up (1990), and second follow-up (1992).
