- Beginning Postsecondary Students (BPS) Longitudinal Study
- This study was "designed specifically to collect data related to persistence in and completion of postsecondary education programs; relationships between work and education efforts; and the effect of postsecondary education on the lives of individuals.
BPS follows students who are enrolled in a postsecondary institution for the first time. Initially, these individuals are surveyed through the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) to find out how they and their families pay for education beyond high school. These same students are surveyed 2- and 5-years later through BPS to find out about their undergraduate experiences, persistence in school, degree completion, and employment following enrollment." - Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP)
- "The Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) is the largest ongoing national study of college students in the United States. Initiated in 1966 by the American Council on Education (ACE) and transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1973 under the continuing sponsorship of ACE, CIRP annually surveys entering freshman classes at a national sample of colleges and universities. Each annual survey produces national norms describing the characteristics of new college freshmen, and the data generated by the survey provide a basis for national longitudinal studies of a wide variety of educational problems and issues." - "The Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) Series was designed to provide comprehensive information on various aspects of postsecondary education in the United States and its territories (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) and Department of Defense schools outside the United States.
