Common Core of Data (CCD)
"The Common Core of Data (CCD) is a program of the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics that annually collects fiscal and non-fiscal data about all public schools, public school districts and state education agencies in the United States. The data include information that describes schools and school districts, including name, address, and phone number; descriptive information about students and staff, including demographics; and fiscal data, including revenues and current expenditures." Elementary & Secondary Education General Information Survey (ELSEGIS)
"ELSEGIS, the predecessor of CCD, collects and publishes extensive information on education agencies in the United States and includes general descriptions of public and private schools and public school districts, data on students and staff, and fiscal data including revenues and current expenditures. Fast Response Survey System (FRSS)
"The Fast Response Survey System (FRSS) was established in 1975 to collect issue-oriented data quickly and with minimum response burden. The FRSS, whose surveys collect and report data on key education issues at the elementary and secondary levels, was designed to meet the data needs of Department of Education analysts, planners and decisionmakers when information could not be collected quickly through NCES’s large recurring surveys." National Household Education Survey
"The National Household Education Surveys Program (NHES) provides descriptive data on the educational activities of the U.S. population and offers researchers, educators, and policymakers a variety of statistics on the condition of education in the United States.

The NHES surveys cover learning at all ages, from early childhood to school age through adulthood. The most recent data collection in 2005 consisted of three surveys: Adult Education, Early Childhood Program Participation, and After-School Programs and Activities." (Source: NCES)
Office for Civil Rights Surveys
"The Office for Civil Rights School District File series was developed by the United States Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and was carried out annually from 1968 to 1974. The aim of the series was to examine issues of school desegregation. It contains data on racial and ethnic composition of students and staff for each academic year in selected school districts.

The 1994 Civil Rights Compliance Report also collected data from selected school districts and schools within each selected district." (Source: IAED)
Private School Universe Study (PSS)
Data on the total number of private schools, teachers, and students. The study is conducted every two years beginning with 1989-1990 and continuing to the present
Public Elementary-Secondary Education Finance Data
"Education finance data include revenues, expenditures, debt, and assets (cash and security holdings) of elementary and secondary public school systems.
