Conducted by the 50 state health departments as well as those in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands with support from the CDC, BRFSS provides state-specific information about issues such as asthma, diabetes, health care access, alcohol use, hypertension, obesity, cancer screening, nutrition and physical activity, tobacco use, and more.” (Source: CDC) Data from the BRFSS annual survey is available from 1984. GIS data (shapefiles) are available from 2002.

This report provides a global update on the policy frameworks, institutional arrangements, human resource base, and international and national finance streams in support of sanitation and drinking-water. It is a substantive input into the activities of Sanitation and Water for All (SWA). The 2011 data used for the 2012 report is linked under the heading "Archive and previous GLAAS reports."
