Here's how
to add content from UNC Libraries to your Google home page.
Search UNC Libraries from your Google home page
Add the UNC Library Catalog to your Google home page. (Note: Sorry, does not work for Mac users)
Instructions:
- Go to http://www.google.com/ig
- Log in to your Google account, if necessary
(Note: If you do not have a Google account, at the bottom of page it says "Save this page and take it with you using
your Google Account." Click on
Google Account link to set up an account)
- Click Add Content (in upper left-hand corner of screen)
- Next to "Search Homepage Content" button, click Add by URL link
- Enter one of the
following URLs:

With the UNC graphic
http://www.lib.unc.edu/reference/eref/unccat.xml

Without the UNC graphic
http://www.lib.unc.edu/reference/eref/unccat2.xml

Now you can search the UNC Library Catalog or go
directly to Advanced Search, World Cat, Article Databases, or the E-Journal Finder from your Google Page.
Link to article databases on your Google home page
Instructions:
- Go to http://www.google.com/ig
- Log in to your Google account, if necessary

Google Account link to set up an account)
- Click Add Content (in upper left-hand corner of screen)
- Do a search for Bookmarks
- Choose the first search result and click Add it Now button.
- Open another browser window. Go to the Libraries Main Page at
http://www.lib.unc.edu
- Click Article Databases
- Find database by subject or title, or in the Getting Started box. Click on orange
[info] link.
- Copy link from browser bar
- Go back to your Google home page. In Bookmarks, click edit
- Add the URL and enter the database name (e.g. Academic Search Premier,
Lexis-Nexis, JSTOR, BIOSIS, MLA, PsycInfo, etc.)

Now you can go to UNC Libraries article databases directly from your Google home page.
