When you adjust the view of a picture in Photoshop, you only change a representation of an image. Zooming in and out does not make changes to the image size. Does your photo look like the picture below, with only a corner of the whole picture showing? At 100% (its actual size), it may be too large.
To change your view:
Use the bars on the bottom or the along the right-hand side to navigate around the image, Click and drag from the lower right-hand corner of the frame to expand the window, or Adjust the actual size of the image An example of a view of an image, with only a corner showing:![]()
To adjust the image size
Right-click on the blue bar at the top of the image. In the menu that appears (shown below), select Image Size...![]()
Adjust the width and height in pixels. Or, to adjust width and height in inches, use the width or height pull-down menu to select inches instead of pixels. To re-adjust size to specific measurements (e.g. 2" x 2" for passport photos, etc.), de-select the Constrain Proportions checkbox, shown below. The chain icon will disappear, and the photo can be stretched or shrunken to meet measurement requirements.

The color settings and Scanning Area (in millimeters) are incorrect. Try your scan again and make sure that the settings in the TWAIN window are exactly like these.
File > Save as (Save as type: .jpg for photos or .gif for other images)

Crop an image in Photoshop
Sometimes you will need to crop the image once it has already been moved into Photoshop. To do this:
1. Select the Crop tool:

2. Click in the upper left-hand corner of the image and drag a dotted rectangle around the portion of the image you would like to keep.
3. Click on the Move tool:![]()
A pop-up box appears. Select Crop or, if you need to make further adjustments, click Don't Crop, and start over.
