Scan a Document and Create a PDF

To make a PDF, decide on a scanner.  If you use the Fujitsu scanner, also select a scanning program.

Scanners Scanning Programs
Fujitsu scanner • Fastest
• Has page feeder
• Insert up to 10 pages at once
• Uses Acrobat or ScandAll
Adobe Acrobat 6 • Fine for short scans
• Use to view document
• Use to add more pages
• Downside: Scan types revert to default settings
UMAX scanner Slower than the Fujitsu, but...
• Good for large items
• Better color for graphics, art
• Scans non-standard sizes • To scan, uses Acrobat only
ScandAll 21 • Fujitsu only
• Fastest
• Best for long documents
• Downside: Creates PDF, but no window to view scanned document, must open Acrobat after scan job to check work
