Notes: This data was acquired October 2009. If you need more recent data, contact the GIS Librarian. Contact information is available at the bottom of this page. Future Land Uses are established by the Durham Comprehensive Plan to guide the growth and development in Durham. The Future Land Use Map represents desired patterns of land use and the map and policies in the Plan offer a set of guidelines for expansion of private development and public services and facilities. This data was created to assist governmental agencies, property owners, citizens and others in understanding the geographic implications of the Future Land Use Map and other policies of the Durham Comprehensive Plan. The Future Land Use Map was adopted as part of the Durham Comprehensive Plan on February 28, 2005 by the City Council and Board of Commissioners and may be amended by the governing boards from time to time. The dataset has been updated to reflect changes in the Recreation Open Space with regard to new Floodplain adopted May 2006. SDE Layers for Future Land Use Map - Parcels and City Limits will also be useful.
