UNC at Chapel Hill has a site license for ESRI products which is maintained by ITS. Through this site license, UNC at Chapel Hill affiliates (current faculty, staff, and students) have free access to many ESRI Virtual Campus online courses.
A listing of courses included with our site license follows. It is not a complete listing of ESRI online courses.
UNC at Chapel Hill affiliates should email Amanda Henley with the following information:
You will receive a course access code via email. Once you have received the course access code, go to ESRI Training. Follow the "Login" link. If you already have an ESRI global account, sign in with your member login and password. If not, click "Create New Account" and complete the form to create a new ESRI global account. There is no fee to join. There are many other free resources you may find useful at the virtual campus. While you're there, take a look at their online library, as well as the online workshops they offer.
The courses are online, but to complete course exercises, you will need access to ArcGIS software. See our Getting Started with GIS at UNC page for information on software availability.
