  • block(s)
  • block group(s)
  • census tract(s)
  • county(ies)
  • place(s)
  • state(s)
  • Metropolitan Statistical Area(s)
  • ZIP Code Tabulation Area(s)
All...
  • blocks in a county
  • blocks in a census tract or block group
  • block groups in a state
  • block groups in a county
  • block groups in a census tract
  • census tracts in a state
  • census tracts in a county
  • counties in the U.S.
  • counties in a state
  • places in a state
  • states in the U.S.
  • Metropolitan Statistical Areas in a state
  • ZIP Code Tabulation Areas in a state
A particular block(s) It is not possible to do this easily and satisfactorily. Thus, the best option is the following:
  1. Open 101 Block by Block Group and etc.
  2. Open desired state(s)
  3. Check desired county(ies)
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Block, Block Group, Census Tract, County, County Subdivision FIPS, Place FIPS, State FIPS
This will give you all of the blocks within the county, broken down by county subdivision, place, census tract, and block group. If desired, download the table and sort it first by census tract, then by block group, and then by block.
A particular block group(s)
  1. Open 150 Block Group by Census Tract and County
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Open the desired county(ies)
  4. Open the desired census tract(s)
  5. Check the desired block group(s)
  6. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Block Group, Census Tract, County, State FIPS
A particular census tract(s)
  1. Open 140 Census Tract by County
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Open the desired county(ies)
  4. Check the desired census tract(s)
  5. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Census Tract, County, State FIPS
A particular county(ies)
  1. Open 050 County
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Check the desired county(ies)
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: County, State FIPS
A particular place(s)
  1. Open 160 Place
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Check the desired place(s)
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Place FIPS, State FIPS
A particular state(s)
  1. Open 040 State
  2. Check the desired state(s)
  3. Choose this Geographic Identifier in Variables: State FIPS
A particular Metropolitan Statistical Area(s)
  1. Open 390 Metropolitan Statistical Area/ Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Check the desired MSA(s)
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area, Metropolitan Statistical Area, Part Flag, State FIPS
Because Metropolitan Statistical Areas can cross state boundaries, this will give you data for that part of the Metropolitan Statistical Area within the state.
A particular ZIP Code Tabulation Area(s)
  1. Open 871 5-digit ZIP Code Tabulation Area
  2. Open the desired state(s)
  3. Check the desired ZCTA(s)
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Part Flag, State FIPS, ZIP Code Tabulation Area (5 digit)
Because ZIP Code Tabulation Areas can cross state boundaries, this will give you data for that part of the ZIP Code Tabulation Area within the state.

All blocks in a county
  1. Open 101 Block by Block Group and etc.
  2. Open desired state
  3. Check desired county
All blocks in a census tract or block group It is not possible to do this without getting the census tracts broken down by county subdivision and by place/remainder. Thus, the best option is the following:
  1. Open 101 Block by Block Group and etc.
  2. Open desired state
  3. Check desired county
  4. Choose these Geographic Identifiers in Variables: Block, Block Group, Census Tract, County, County Subdivision FIPS, Place FIPS State FIPS
This will give you all of the blocks within the county, broken down by county subdivision, place, census tract, and block group. To find all of the blocks with a census tract or block group, sort the resulting table first by census tract, then by block group, and then by block.
