Guide to Historical Population and Housing Census Statistics and Maps for Small Area Geography:
Blocks, Block Groups, Census Tracts, County Subdivisions, ZIP Codes, and similar areas, 1910 - 1990
This guide presents sources for historical population and housing census data and maps for 1910-1990. Included are: title; series number; location and call numbers (Library of Congress and/or SuDocs) at Davis Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; format (print, microfiche, CD-ROM); whether or not the publication includes maps at the relevant geographical level; notes; and Dubester number.
This is not a comprehensive list of resources for small geographic areas, although I have tried to be as complete as possible. UNC-Chapel Hill Maps Library may have maps for small geographic areas. Please contact me about resources that are not included here or to suggest corrections or improvements.
