The Kenan Science Library is the center for information services in the natural and mathematical sciences. The library is comprised of two facilities: the Kenan Science Library in Venable Hall and the Science Library Annex in Wilson Library.
The Kenan Science Library, which opened on August 30, 2010, has five group study rooms, a collaboratory with 7 computers equipped with scientific software, and a 30-seat classroom for library instruction. The science librarians have offices in this library and are available for consultations, instruction, and customized services for the departments they work with. The science librarians will work with university researchers in the sciences to develop strategies for the preservation of and access to research data.
The Science Library Annex is located in Wilson Library and houses the print collection of natural and mathematical sciences. In July, 2011, the print collections of the Geological Sciences Library and Brauer Math/Physics Library were moved to join the biology and chemistry collections to form a combined science collection of more than 250,000 volumes.
